There there dear

How that old windbag Harriet Harman must have relished the PM telling Angela Eagle to 'calm down dear' across the floor of the house. Man hating Harman has been starved of opportunities since the 1980's to really get worked up about lesbians, bisexuals, transvestites, homosexuals, sexism, equal ops and all the other crap she and her loony left mob used to ram down our throats on a regular basis - until people got bored and stopped listening.

And then along came the likes of Ms Eagle, taking up the baton of equality and taking it to places Harman could only dream of - civil partnerships for one. Eagle is one of the new breed of leftie, a bit more pragmatic and measured than her predecessors, smoother round the edges, a bit like Ben Bradshaw. Even Eagle herself admitted she was not really offended by the PM's quip - at which point you could almost hear Harman wretching over her sandals.

The truth of the matter is, although being a politician she would never admit it, but in private, Angela Eagle was probably more offended, incensed even, by Ed Balls coming over all blokey mounting his white charger and riding to the defence of a weak and defenceless woman in distress, screaming at the PM 'apologise, apologise!'
